We all remember the viral videos of women using contouring to define their features and look slimmer. The results can be pretty incredible, but who wants to spend that much time just to wash it all away at the end of the day? We don’t, and here’s why you don’t have to.

Contouring Cosmetic Treatments

What’s great to know, especially with the trends tending towards makeup minimalism, is that there are cosmetic treatment options to contour your features. And no, we are not talking surgery. Most of these possibilities are minimally invasive with little or no downtime.

Morpheus8

Loose or sagging skin can obscure your natural bone structure, making features appear less defined. Morpheus8 is a treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to address lax skin from within.

During a Morpheus8 session, tiny needles penetrate the skin to deliver RF energy deep into the dermal layers. This process stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of firm skin.

Additionally, Morpheus8 can target and remodel superficial fat layers. This dual action makes it effective for tightening the jawline and contouring the lower face and even the neck, providing a more lifted appearance without surgery.

Chin Liposuction or Kybella

A well-defined jawline can make you look younger and more slender. A double chin can be extremely frustrating. And what’s worse is that this area is frequently resistant to diet and exercise.

For patients seeking permanent fat reduction under the chin, we often recommend one of two treatments.

Kybella: An injectable treatment containing a molecule naturally found in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat. When injected into the chin area, it kills fat cells, which are then processed and eliminated by the body’s metabolic system.

Chin Liposuction: A minimally invasive procedure where excess fat is physically removed through a small cannula. This allows for significant sculpting of the jawline and neck contours in a single session.

Both options effectively eliminate the submental fat pad, revealing the natural structure of the jawbone.

Facial Fillers

As we age, we naturally lose bone density and fat pads in the face. This volume loss can cause the skin to sag, leading to jowls and a tired look. Facial fillers replace this lost volume and recreate structural support.

We can place fillers strategically to create a sculpted look. Fillers can add volume to the cheeks, which lifts the mid-face, helping to not only create the contours of high cheekbones but also alleviate the appearance of nasolabial folds. Placing filler along the angle of the jaw and the chin can sharpen the lower face, creating a sleeker jawline. Soft, flexible fillers can be used to lift and plump the lips as well.

Masseter Botox

The masseter muscles are the large muscles on the side of the jaw used for chewing. By injecting Botox into the masseter muscles, we can temporarily relax them. This process slims the lower third of the face, transforming a square jaw into a more heart-shaped or V-shaped contour. This treatment offers both cosmetic slimming benefits and therapeutic relief from jaw tension.

Thread Lift

This procedure involves inserting medical-grade, dissolvable threads underneath the skin. These threads have tiny barbs or cones that lift the tissue, reducing sagging skin. A thread lift creates an immediate lifting effect, particularly in the mid-face and jowl area. Furthermore, as the threads dissolve over several months, they stimulate the body’s natural healing response, generating new collagen in the treated areas. This results in sustained firmness and definition even after the threads have been absorbed.
